Biography:
Warm, vivacious, and powerful – The founding member of community
healthcare is Dr. Minerva Mervat Kelada. She is a seasoned medical professional
with over 30 years of experience as a doctor, director, administrator, and
owner of an urgent care center and rural health clinic. Currently serving as
the Chief Medical Officer for the Imperial County Physician Medical Group, she
adds that her role is quite demanding since, as she puts it, “holding such a
position for several years and guiding the young medical physicians on the
right path is a big risk and responsibility.” Mervat, who is based in Calexico,
California (USA), is descended from several generations of Greek ancestors. She
moved to the US 42 years ago with her ex-husband, attending the esteemed UCLA to
get her medical degree.
